Commerce Adviser Sheikh Bashir Uddin believes it is possible to sell essential goods at affordable prices to 15 to 20 million people through the Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB). However, he said the current prices of the products would have to be adjusted, meaning prices may need to be increased slightly.
He made the remarks on Saturday afternoon during the first session of a symposium titled “White Paper and Beyond: Economic Management, Reforms and National Budget” organised by the White Paper Preparation Committee at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre in Agargaon, Dhaka.
