On Thursday (9 January), the Free Media Forum submitted a 22-point reform proposal to Kamal Ahmed, Head of the Media Reform Commission, at the commission's headquarters located at the Information Building in Dhaka. Present at the event were Free Media Forum President Mahfuz Uddin Khan, Spokesperson Mohammad Abdullah Mazumdar, Office Director S. M. Nasim, Culture Director Nithor Mahbub, along with other members and officials of the Media Reform Commission.

Later, Forum spokesperson Mohammad Abdullah Mazumdar said the 22-point proposal focuses on ensuring freedom of the press and freedom of expression, protecting the media from undue influence, improving journalistic standards, and safeguarding the rights of media professionals.

The proposal was officially handed over to the commission at its headquarters in the Information Building.

Representatives of both the Free Media Forum and the Media Reform Commission attended the submission ceremony.

According to the Forum, the reform package emphasizes media independence, editorial freedom, professional accountability, and stronger protection of journalists' rights.
